TILE ADHESIVES APPLICATION & FEATURESGEEKAY BOND EPH 100 is a three component epoxy based mortar for fixing ceramic, vitrified and acid resistant tiles, granites and marbles, stone cladding etc. Due to its excellent bonding properties this is an ideal material for heavy duty flooring applications. COMPOSITION &CONDITIONS The area to be tiled shall be free of dust, grease, oil and any other deleterious matters. Thorough surface preparation shall be carried out before commencement of the tiling. The base and hardener shall be mixed together in a container to get a consistent mix. The filler shall be added to the solution and mixed with a slow speed drill till a homogenous mortar is obtained. The mixed mortar shall be spread on the floor / wall using a trowel. A notch trowel can be used for better spreading. The tile shall be pressed onto the base mortar and squeezed till the excess material comes out. The GEEKAY BOND EPH 100 can also be spread onto the back of the tiles and pressed onto the surface. A uniform joint width of minimum 2mm shall be obtained by using Geekay Spacers. The tile joint shall be cleaned thoroughly to facilitate grouting later on. Excess material on the tiles shall be removed by a wet sponge or cloth. Light foot traffic shall be allowed only after 24 hrs of tiling. The grouting of tile joint shall be carried out at this time. The cleaning shall be done before the material gels otherwise mechanical cleaning may be necessary.
