TILE ADHESIVES APPLICATION & FEATURES GEEKAY BOND 290 is the ideal bonding material for fixing ceramic wall and floor tiles, as well as marble and stone claddings for small and medium size applications. This is supplied in powder form, but GEEKAY BOND 290 possesses many advantages over the conventional cement and sand mortar. COMPOSITION &CONDITIONS 1) Clean the surface thoroughly with brush and water to remove dust, grease, oil, paint etc. 2) Add one part water to 2½ parts of GEEKAY BOND 290 powder by volume. Mix to form a thick paste. Add little more water if necessary, to obtain a workable mix. Leave the GEEKAY BOND 290 mortar to stand for 5 to 10 minutes for the mix to mature, before using. 3) Apply the GEEKAY BOND 290 mortar on the working area (wall or floor) to an average thickness of 3mm, for marble and granite slabs the bed mortar should be increased to get a better bond and uniform level. 4) Fix dry tiles by pressing into place beginning at the bottom in the case of walls, and at the centre marking, in the case of floor and swimming pool. Clean the surface with a wet cloth or sponge. 5) Allow 24 hours to set before grouting the joints.
